Dr Mihai Tiuca is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon with almost 20 years of experience in varicose vein procedures. He graduated from Bucharest University, Romania’s largest university, in 2003 with full marks. There, he completed his surgical training during which he also initiated a PhD. In 2009, Dr. Mihai Tiuca moved to Ireland to pursue his vascular surgical career as a Vascular Registrar, joining the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. His professional journey then brought him to London, to complete his training and eventually get recognised as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in 2018. Following various work experiences across the United Kingdom, he was appointed Consultant Vascular Surgeon in Wales, gaining extensive experience in emergency surgery and handling life-threatening situations, which further solidified his specialisation in vascular surgery. For almost 20 years, Dr. Mihai Tiuca has performed venous procedures, and he developed a deep interest in venous surgery, which led him to engage with Professor Whiteley at multiple Vascular and Phlebology conferences. He continued to expand his knowledge through attending numerous courses and congresses across Europe. His exposure to Prof. Whiteley’s pioneering research inspired him to join The College of Phlebology and eventually The Whiteley Clinic, where he continues to keep up to date with the latest technique in varicose vein surgery through the Whiteley Protocol. Dr Mihai Tiuca speaks fluent Romanian, English, and is learning Italian. In his spare time, Dr. Mihai Tiuca and his family of four, including two energetic youngsters, enjoy skiing and beach vacations, sharing valued family time together.
