First Specialist Pelvic Pain Clinic in the UK to combine Gynaecology and Venous Disorder specialist treatment
The Whiteley Clinic has opened London’s first dedicated Pelvic Pain Clinic for women. This specialist clinic brings together gynaecology and vein expertise in one place. It offers advanced diagnosis and treatment for causes of chronic pelvic pain, including pelvic congestion syndrome ( PCS), endometriosis, and adenomyosis.
Miss Sophie Strong is a consultant Gynaecologist specialising in the management of chronic pelvic pain. She leads the team at The Whiteley Clinic's female pelvic pain clinic, where she has also published peer-reviewed research in Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. She is passionate about helping people with chronic pelvic pain and takes an individualised, holistic approach to this issue, which is thought to affect almost one quarter of women globally. As a pelvic pain specialist, she regularly sees patients presenting with endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis and pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS). Miss Strong is a specialist in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery (MIGS) having completed a fellowship in laparoscopic surgery for the management of endometriosis and fibroids. She has won numerous prizes at international gynaecological conferences for her research in pelvic congestion syndrome and fibroid care.

At the pelvic pain clinic we offer holistic individualised pelvic pain consultations with a view to support endometriosis related pain, fibroid management and detection and treatment of pelvic congestion syndrome. We are able to offer medical management for pelvic pain and pelvic vein embolisation on site to treat pelvic congestion syndrome. We can fit hormonal contraceptive coils, perform cervical smear tests, sexually transmitted infection testing and perform endometrial biopsies if required.
