Veins around the eyes, called “periorbital veins” can be very difficult to assess and treat.
Very small veins that are blue or green and flat to the skin can be treated with laser across the skin at Absolute Aesthetics.
However, larger veins around the eyes, that bulge the skin, are usually too big for laser treatment. We have found the best way to treat these is to remove them under local anaesthetic with a technique called phlebectomy.
A local anaesthetic is injected around the vein. One or more tiny incisions are made and the vein hooked out.
The wounds are too small to be stitched and heal under a simple plaster. The wounds and bruising disappear between a few days and a few weeks. Any residual veins can then be treated with laser.
If you have veins that you wish to be assessed, please send photographs by email so we can decide whether it would be best for you to be seen for potential surgery at The Whiteley Clinic or laser at Absolute Aesthetics.
