Longest Day Golf Challenge for Macmillan Cancer support

On 21st June, our own IT Assistant Charlie and his team headed to Windlesham Golf Club to complete the Longest Day Golf Challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Longest Day Golf Challenge is where golfers from around the country play 72 holes of golf in one day!

Last year saw over 3,000 teams cross the UK sign up and they raised an amazing 1.5 million for people affected by cancer.

Starting at 5am and not finishing until 9pm, Charlie and his team had completed around 20 miles of walking, taken 300 shots each and all of this was done on the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching a blistering 34 degrees!

All money raised went to Macmillan and the whole team were very appreciative of the support.

“A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and shown support and a massive thank you to the guys and girls at Windlesham golf club for letting us drag ourselves along their beautiful course and keeping us motivated throughout the day!”

Macmillan provides amazing support for people suffering from Cancer & their families. Sadly, nearly all of us will be affected by cancer at some point in our lives, whether it be us or someone we know. The more people that get involved and help to raise money, the more support can be provided to help those who are suffering from this disease.
