In 2009, Professor Mark Whiteley developed an operation called Laser Sweat Ablation (LSA) for excessive under-arm sweating (click here for more information). He performed the first LSA for Under-Arm Sweating on 5th March 2009 getting into the national newspapers for his development (Click here for the first newspaper report on LSA).
Professor Whiteley has continued to develop the LSA procedure and has patented the Whiteley Laser Sweat Ablation cannula. If this instrument is not used, then it is not real LSA. Professor Mark Whiteley is seen performing the operation under local anaesthetic at The Whiteley Clinic in Guildford. However LSA is also available at The Whiteley Clinic in London.
