We recently treated a venous ulcer patient who had developed a total of 36 ulcers on one leg over the course of 5-6 years.
Just 6 months following her first visit to The Whiteley Clinic, she was ulcer free!
Read the kind words of her daughter below.
“My mother had suffered from venous ulcers on three occasions over a period of 5-6 years. On the first two occasions, the ulcers healed after several months. However, on the third occasion she developed 36 ulcers in total in the same leg. The extent of the damage? Around 30% of the leg had leaked out and the bones were visible in places. After 6 months of excruciating pain, sleepless nights, constantly struggling to keep the ulcers sterile and suicidal thoughts in my mother, a complete and utter sense of helplessness on the part of vascular surgeons overseas and the immediate family set in.
Internet research pointed us in the direction of The Whiteley Clinic. The initial treatment was overseen by Mr Price and the lymphoedema therapist, Sarah Moh. Visits to the clinic on alternate days over a period of 3 months led gradually to my mother being virtually pain-free and to the ulcers miraculously closing up at some speed. The swelling and the infection which had persisted for a long time were promptly brought under control and at that point my mother underwent Endovenous Laser Ablation and sclerotherapy. Six months after the first visit to The Whiteley Clinic, my mother is ulcer-free and finally, the lives of the entire family have resumed a sense of normality – something that was unthinkable when my mother was at her worst. She even danced at her daughter’s wedding which is priceless and the “before” and “after” photographs speak for themselves.
Whilst my mother’s recovery process has been a rather long and arduous journey, it has been an incredibly positive experience. The staff at The Whiteley Clinic have been tremendous – incredibly professional, supportive, caring, attentive, approachable and never too far for advice when needed. We have our mother and wife back and we owe it all to The Whiteley Clinic! Words cannot describe our gratitude. Thank you so very much!”
